JobSpan Print Production Scheduling and Planning
Technology Used
The Jobspan System is written using JavaScript, and Java
Server Pages with associated TAG libraries written in Java. Access to the
SQL database is via a JDBC interface within the Java Tag libraries.
The systems currently installed use an Oracle Application
Server (Apache), and its embedded JSP technology, connected to an Oracle
database on both HP Unix and Linux hosts.
Essentially any Java enabled Web Server can be used to host
the system, such as Tomcat to provide Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages
technologies.
The demo data has been ported to a MySQL database and is
hosted on Tomcat running behind Apache.
The system operates best in Microsoft Internet Explorer
Version 6 or greater. A browser is all that's required to run the system
from a client machine, so installation and updates are only required on
the server.

specified, if required
